The season is still early; it is too early to tell. We have yet to harvest much produce. We raised money to purchase a storage shed for our garden; this was highly successful - we raised nearly 2x our original goal. Our shed was purchased and erected without trouble.
What challenges did or does your project face?
We require plowing by a commercial farmer in town - our garden is almost 1/4 acre in a 80+ acre farmland (we own 9 acres of the property and the farmer uses our property to farm). The farmer plowed approximately 2-3 weeks later that we desired.
How are you working to overcome them?
The coordinators and volunteers scrambled quickly and planted three days after the plowing was complete.
What did you or your project learn this season that might be useful to others as well?
The season is early - I do not yet have an answer to this question.
