What were your biggest successes this season?

Our biggest successes this season included having a business man come to Haiti and conduct a week of classes for our Haitian team on how to run a business. Our team is keeping good records and doing forecasting. We hope to be self sustaining in 5-7 years. Two new farms have also been purchased in the last few month. There is much to do and we will be needed seeds as well as small garden tools for planting.

What challenges did or does your project face?

Fundraising is an ongoing topic for us. We also deal with uncertain weather conditions which can make planning difficult.

How are you working to overcome them?

We have a planning calendar for fundraising. We have also tightened up our financial controls and started forecasting.

What did you or your project learn this season that might be useful to others as well?

We realized our men were very educated in agriculture, but needed business training too. This was an excellent move to get this training for them.
