So far, we have helped Habitat for Humanity develop food gardens at three more of their new homes in Pasco. The families have planted their gardens and are growing food. On June 1, we will work with Habitat to help build food gardens for another three families.
What challenges did or does your project face?
Weather. We had record snowfalls this winter. This delayed Habitat's home construction schedule and building of the gardens.
How are you working to overcome them?
We delayed the garden projects. By June 1, we will be done with the spring projects.
What did you or your project learn this season that might be useful to others as well?
Be prepared for weather delays in garden development projects.
