Life Garden

What were your biggest successes this season?

We used the money to buy 16 fruit trees to start the garden area. They are all planted and doing great!

What challenges did or does your project face?

Our garden was badly flooded in Hurricane Harvey.
Im sorry I don't have a good picture of all the trees planted. I thought I did. I can send more if there is another way?

How are you working to overcome them?

Im monitoring the trees health after sitting in so much contaminated water for a week. The garden area is also being used for temporary buildings as children's classrooms.

What did you or your project learn this season that might be useful to others as well?

When buying and planting fruit trees... Pay close attn to kinds of trees best for your area, plant them far enough apart to give them room to fully expand at full size, make sure you buy 2 of the ones that need pollinators and do not fertilize too soon.
