What were your biggest successes this season?

Progress on current programs aimed at evaluating the importance of School Garden Coaches and providing tools to adopt the model and enhance sustainablilty of garden programs. We maintain diligent outreach and support for schools throughout Maine. The work is truly inspiring!

What challenges did or does your project face?

Funding. Maintaining finamcial support to keep up the momentum of critical projects.

How are you working to overcome them?

Our entire board of volunteers are continuously looking for opportunities to support our funding needs. We are efficient and resourceful in the administration and execution of our mission.

What did you or your project learn this season that might be useful to others as well?

Teamwork and listening to the needs of the community are key to optimizing success! I started this position in February and I've learned so much from schools we work with and our volunteer board of professionals. Because of the support and teamwork I've experienced, I've been able to continue to fulfill our mission and grow our programs. You can learn something everywhere!
