Apply for Funding

The 2023 SeedMoney Challenge has ended. Please join our mailing list to stay in the the loop about next year’s funding opportunities.

Background: Each year, SeedMoney offers challenge grants to diverse food garden projects through a 30-day crowdfunding challenge running from Nov 15 to Dec 15. Our grants are open to all types of public food garden projects (youth gardens, community gardens, food bank gardens, etc.) regardless of their location.

The grants we offer are on a sliding scale. The size of a grant a project can receive depends on how much it is able to raise over the 30-day period compared to other projects participating in the challenge. This year, we will be offering a total of 408 grants ranging from $100 to $1000. See the graphic below for the distribution of those grants.

We will be accepting grant applications until 11:59 pm Eastern Time on November 12th. We will only consider applications that have been successfully submitted via our website by that deadline.

At noon Eastern Time on November 15th, all funding campaigns whose applications were submitted on time and fit our criteria will go live. Let your project’s supporters know in advance.

At noon Eastern Time on December 15th, the 30-day challenge period ends. Your campaign will be able to keep whatever it has raised even if it hasn’t managed to reach its funding goal.
