Application Deadline: November 12

This fall, SeedMoney will be awarding 100 grants ranging in size from $200-$600 to US-based and global food garden projects. We will be doing this through our 3rd Annual Giving Gardens Challenge, a 4-week online giving campaign running from November 15th to December 15th.

We offer two types of grants: challenge grants and merit grants. Challenge Grants ($400) are awarded to the 50 projects that raise $600 or more the fastest using our crowdfunding tools. Merit grants ($200) will be awarded to projects that don’t win Challenge Grants but which we deem worthy of support. We will also award an additional $600 bonus grant to the project that raises the most.

We will be accepting grant applications until 11:59 pm Eastern Time on November 12th. Only applications that have been successfully submitted via our website will be considered.

By applying, you’re sowing the seeds for 3 types of possible funding via a single application: crowdfunding from individuals as well as challenge grants and merit grants from us.

At noon Eastern Time on November 15th, all funding campaigns whose applications were submitted on time and fit our criteria will go live.  Let your project’s supporters know in advance!

The first 50 campaigns that raise $600 will receive $400 challenge grants from us. You’ll be able to track your progress via our site and can keep raising funds even if you’ve hit your goal.

At noon Eastern Time on December 15th, the 30-day challenge period ends. Your campaign will be able to keep whatever it has raised even if it hasn’t managed to reach its funding goal.

All campaigns that didn’t win a $400 challenge grant from us will be entered into consideration for one of 50 $200 merit grants. These grants will be chosen by our grants committee.
