Partner With SeedMoney — Branded Grant Programs

Corporate Partnerships

Branded grant programs, run end to end

SeedMoney designs and operates custom grant programs for corporate partners. You bring the brand and the funding commitment. We run everything else: application intake, review, fund distribution, grantee reporting, and impact documentation. Your team gets the story and the content. Ours runs the machine.

The Offer

Two ways to structure a program

Direct-funded programs

Your company funds a grant pool and we build a branded program around it, from application through final impact report.

Revenue-linked programs

A percentage-of-sales or per-product contribution funds the grant pool, giving your customers a visible stake in every garden funded. Our largest partnership to date was funded this way, through the partner’s 1% for the Planet commitment.

Timing is a real advantage. Our flagship Crowdgrant Challenge runs each fall. A branded spring program gives your company a dedicated season and gives us a year-round presence together, rather than one annual moment.

Proof

The ABO Organic partnership, 2020–2022

From 2020 through 2022, Arnold, Brownberry and Oroweat Organic Breads (Bimbo Bakeries USA) were our lead corporate partner, supporting SeedMoney through their 1% for the Planet membership. Their support worked at two levels.

The branded program

We built a custom grant opportunity for the brands: the Spring Planting Grant. It grew from 11 gardens in 2020 to 20 in 2022, awarding 48 grants of $5,000 each in 22 cities across 19 states and DC. We matched the program to how the brands map to the country, with Arnold grantees in the East, Brownberry in the Midwest and Oroweat in the West, so each brand had its own named cohort of community gardens.

The wider impact

ABO’s support went beyond the branded program and helped power our fall SeedMoney Challenge in each partnership year. Across both programs from 2020 through 2022:

1,090
garden projects funded
$1.5M
mobilized for gardens in grants and community donations
327,000
people reached
2.1M
servings of fresh produce grown, in 47 US states and 42 countries

The two programs were designed to reinforce each other. In 2020 and 2021, Spring Planting grantees could qualify for matching grants in the fall Challenge, and grantees kept coming back: in 2022, 16 of the 20 spring cohort ran fall campaigns, with one Chicago garden leveraging its grant into over $5,800 in individual donations. Bimbo Bakeries USA announced the partnership with a national press release featuring grantee stories, and grantees created product-integrated content of their own, like the harvest sandwiches made with the brands’ breads pictured above.

“With the help of Oroweat Organic grant funds we were able to extend our growing space by 2,400 feet and increase our food production by 20%.”

“Through Arnold Organic’s donation of funds and bread, 280 families were able to receive food boxes each week containing produce, cage-free eggs and organic bread.”

Proven capacity, custom fit. Our campaign platform launches and manages hundreds of local fundraising campaigns at once. A branded program is designed custom on top of that capacity, the way ABO’s was, so the program fits your brand and the operations underneath it are already proven.
